Silver Wedding Dahlia (introduced 1954)

This is a very special plant. When my grandfather Mr. Evert Vincient Gresham passed away back in 1981; He left a garden full of Dahlias. Not many of us knew much about them, and they were neglected through the following years. Recently, my Grandmother, Mrs. Vera Gresham moved out of her long time home in Hapeville, to an assisted living community in Athens, where she is really enjoying a great quality of life. The only bulbs that were dug up (to my knowledge), were dug up by my brother James and his wife Julie. They didn't have a lot of success with them. At any rate, we have been meaning to try and get one of the bulbs for several years, and finally asked them if we could have one. After looking carefully, they found a single bulb left. It was very small, and rather withered looking. Well, I planted it in a clay pot, and the dahlia started growing! It's just about to bloom, I believe it'll be yellow.
